Another Woman Accuses Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of Sexual Assault in New Lawsuit”
A new lawsuit filed on Thursday by April Lampros alleges that Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted her. Lampros, who met Combs in 1994 while studying at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, claims that the assaults occurred multiple times between the mid-1990s and early 2000s.
The lawsuit, filed in New York and obtained by CNN, accuses Combs of battery, assault, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and violating the victims of gender-motivated violence protection law. The county clerk has yet to review the filing.
“I’m confident that justice will prevail and the veil will be removed so no other woman will have to endure what I did,” Lampros said in a statement to CNN on Thursday.
CNN has reached out to Combs’ representative for comment.
This marks the eighth lawsuit against Combs since November, with seven directly accusing him of sexual assault. One of these lawsuits, filed by former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, has been settled. Another lawsuit accuses his son Christian Combs of sexual assault, with Sean Combs allegedly aiding and abetting.
Lampros claims that Combs initially offered to mentor her, promising introductions to industry executives and job opportunities. However, the lawsuit states that these gestures quickly turned into an abusive relationship centered around sex.
In the first alleged incident in 1995, Lampros says Combs pressured her to drink at a New York City bar before forcing himself on her at a hotel. She claims she pleaded with him to stop, but he raped her. The next morning, she was “nude, sore, and confused,” according to the lawsuit.
In another incident, Lampros alleges that Combs demanded she perform oral sex on him in a parking garage near his Manhattan apartment while a parking attendant watched. The lawsuit claims she was “in shock, morally depleted, embarrassed, and in physical agony.”
When Lampros tried to distance herself from Combs, the lawsuit alleges he became angry and threatening. She says Combs adopted a “mobster persona,” making her fear him.
One night in 1996, Combs allegedly forced Lampros and one of his ex-girlfriends to take ecstasy at his apartment and demanded they have sex. When Lampros refused, Combs allegedly threatened her job. He then masturbated and raped her, according to the lawsuit. Lampros says she felt “disgusted, ashamed, and embarrassed.”
Lampros ended her relationship with Combs around 1998, the lawsuit states. However, between late 2000 and early 2001, they met again, and Combs allegedly grabbed her violently and kissed and touched her against her will.
Lampros claims she has suffered and continues to suffer from physical injuries, severe emotional distress, humiliation, and anxiety.
Recently, Lampros learned that Combs had allegedly recorded them having sex without her knowledge and shown the recordings to others, according to the lawsuit.
The suit also claims that Combs had a temper and often threatened her if she didn’t comply with his demands, spoke to other men, or missed his phone calls. She was not allowed to talk about their relationship, according to the lawsuit. Lampros says she feared that if she disobeyed him, he would destroy her career aspirations.
The lawsuit, filed by Lampros’ attorney Tyrone Blackburn, names additional defendants including Bad Boy Records, Arista Records, and Sony Music Entertainment. Lampros was an intern for Arista Records during at least one of the alleged assaults. The complaint alleges that Arista Records enabled the abuse by placing Combs in a position of authority and failing to protect Lampros.
CNN has sought comments from representatives for Combs, Bad Boy Records, Arista Records, and Sony Music Entertainment.
This latest lawsuit follows accusations from former model Crystal McKinney, who also claimed Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her. It comes after CNN released footage showing Combs physically attacking his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016.
Combs is currently the target of a federal investigation by a Department of Homeland Security team specializing in human trafficking crimes, according to a senior federal law enforcement official.
“There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations,” said Aaron Dyer, Diddy’s attorney, following searches of two of Combs’ homes in March. “Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”
