Top-10 Most Powerful Passports in the World 2025, Check India’s Position
If you’ve got a Singapore passport, you’re holding the most powerful travel document in the world — for the second year in a row. According to the 2025 Henley Passport Index, Singaporeans can visit 193 countries without needing a visa in advance.
Coming in close behind are Japan and South Korea, with access to 190 destinations visa-free. In third place, seven European Union countries — including Germany, France, and Italy — give their citizens entry to 189 countries without prior visa requirements.
India Moves Up in the Rankings
There’s some good news for Indian travelers too. The Indian passport has jumped from 85th to 77th place on the index this year — a significant 8-spot climb.
Although India has only added two more countries — Philippines and Palau Islands — to its list of visa-free or visa-on-arrival (VOA) destinations, the total now stands at 59 countries. This includes popular spots like:
- Malaysia
- Indonesia
- Bhutan
- Maldives
- Thailand
Indian passport holders get VOA in places like Sri Lanka, Macau, and Myanmar as well.
