Aaron Phypers threatens to ‘crush’ Denise Richards’ hand in resurfaced ‘ RHOBH’ clip
Denise Richards’ co-stars from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have spoken out after a disturbing scene involving her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, resurfaced. In a clip from Season 10 of the reality show, Phypers was caught on camera threatening to “crush [her] f–king hand.” The moment was brought back into the spotlight during the virtual reunion, which aired in September 2020.
Host Andy Cohen asked the cast how they felt watching that scene. After a tense pause, Sutton Stracke firmly said, “Zero tolerance. Zero. Unacceptable.” Garcelle Beauvais added that she hadn’t noticed the comment during filming but saw it later online, saying she was “worried” when she realized what had been said. Lisa Rinna and Teddi Mellencamp nodded in agreement.
When Cohen questioned Denise about the incident, she claimed she didn’t know Aaron had said those words until she watched the episode. “I played it for him,” she said, “and he told me, ‘I don’t even remember saying that… I’m afraid of you.’” Denise added that his last comment was said “jokingly.”
Just last week, Aaron Phypers filed for divorce after nearly seven years of marriage. A source close to the couple described their relationship as “very toxic,” saying they constantly fought. According to the same source, Denise was both “devastated and relieved” by the split, adding that she’s mentally exhausted and glad the fighting is over.
Following the divorce filing, Richards took a more serious step — she requested and was granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) against Phypers. In the legal documents, she accused him of repeated physical abuse throughout their relationship. She detailed incidents where he allegedly choked her, slapped her, squeezed her head, and even threatened to kill both her and himself if she reported him.
Attached to the TRO request was a photo of Denise with a black eye, which she claims was from a violent argument in January 2022 at Phypers’ now-closed medical clinic.
However, someone close to Phypers has a different version of events. They claim Denise got the black eye after falling down the stairs while drunk. Phypers has also denied all the abuse allegations, calling them “completely false and deeply hurtful.” He insisted, “I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise — or anyone.”
As the situation unfolds, Denise Richards has yet to comment publicly on the divorce. But the restraining order and the resurfaced video have raised serious concerns — not just among fans, but also among her former castmates.
